Food For Thought
As important as we know exercise is, it's not enough by itself. What you put into your body is just as important, and these things together contribute greatly towards a healthier, happier lifestyle.

Whilst everyone knows that most fruit and vegetables are pretty healthy, you may not know exactly how they can impact your health. A new item will be posted each week, highlighting the benefits you will receive.

Eggplant, also known as aubergine, offers numerous health benefits, making it a valuable addition to a balanced diet. Rich in antioxidants like nasunin, which helps protect cells from damage, and vitamins such as B1, B6, and K, eggplant supports overall health.

Its high fiber content aids digestion and can contribute to weight management by promoting a feeling of fullness. Additionally, eggplant contains essential minerals like potassium and magnesium, which are important for heart health and fluid balance.

However, there are some potential detriments to consider. Eggplant belongs to the nightshade family, which may cause sensitivity or allergic reactions in some individuals. Furthermore, it contains solanine, a natural toxin that can be harmful in large quantities, although typical dietary consumption is generally considered safe.

Lastly, due to its spongy texture, eggplant can absorb significant amounts of oil when cooked, potentially leading to higher calorie dishes that may not align with weight-loss goals.
